KMAN: U-B-Upghreaded

by Heidi Swift A few weeks ago, Mr. KMAN gave me access to speak my mind on this here blog. I will be honest - having the keys to the KMAN Kingdom is nothing short of intimidating. What will my first post be? Should I post pictures of my cats? If I

Sorry for the lack of updation today.

I was a little busy today running around.

I will be updating hopefully later tonight after I get back from a ride.

In the meantime- quick get better soons to OBRA racers Jason Atkinson and Mark Loder.

Wow- cloudy and a little rain. Definitely refreshing.

Been pretty quiet today. Waiting on updated flyer info before we link to it on the OBRA site.

Don’t forget the High Desert Omnium! This will be the next installment of the Cat 4 Women’s Series.

Random Good Stuff posts up some cool concept bikes. (one example below)

The mobile unit has arrived and is set up!

Yay!

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get results from the finish line laptop directly onto the iPhone.

Oh… and I heart Dremels.

The new iPhone didn’t fit in the docking cradle… so I used my handy dandy dremel to “shape” the old dock to accept the new phone.

Well, here’s an assortment of random photos from K-Man’s random wanderings.

A week and a half ago I was supposed to have a LT test but ended up not having one (see prior post). Afterwards T-Girl and I wandered around Portland where we stopped by the Lizard Lounge (free coffee and interwebs)

After which we spied Aaron Tuckerman (who now lives in Portland) eating lunch with his friend and his bike.

Then K-Man spied what must have been the team semi.

Later we stopped by Uwajimaya- my favorite place to pick up random stuff like Lactic Acid Bars. (Which T-Girl finally threw away a few days ago- after sitting in our garage since before Hillsboro Cross Crusade last year). This time, we found the drink of choice for the Gentle Lovers.

Last week I hoofed it up to Portland for a smorgasbord of tasks. First up… stop by Columbia HQ to chat with folks about bike racing.

Whereupon I ran into OBRA racer John Spiegel who gave me this totally rad hat! Thanks John!

Also in attendance was Joe Kurmaskie- aka the Metal Cowboy. He’s the author of:

Really nice guy… really tall. He was nice enough to sit down on the bench while I stood to make it look like I wasn’t a midget next to him. Seen below.

After that I jetted over to Alpenrose where I jumped into the Cat 3 race. Then I loaded up the Uber Buru like burro with lots and lots of signs. Whereafter I jetted over to Dougie and Adrienne’s going away party at the Lucky Lab in NW. Fun times!

Well.. the weekend came and we rode for 1.5 hours on Saturday while some folks were critting or going on really long ass rides. Then on Sunday we booted up to Vancouver for one of my favorite races… the Vancouver Courthouse Crit. You may remember this from my helmet cam video. This year was in the Senior Men Race. Hey, it was easy for the first 40 minutes.

Then it was OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG. Then Elmo says it how it was….

Then… well… I and 13 other souls don’t appear in the results.

Hey… at least I didn’t crash and destroy a wheel like this one (from the 4 or 5 race- don’t quite remember)

But… Kiffy summed it up…

I am totally bummed that I wasn’t able to make it to PIR tonight… with both Monday Night PIR and the last of the STXC- it must have been a hoot!!! Unfortunately, K-Man was stuck down here working on stuff. Oh well.
