With 1 season down with Sal Collura’s VELO Televsion I sat down with him to see how things went.

K-man: So Sal, wow did season 1 go?
Sal: Season One was an experiment. We wanted to see if we could get a show all about cycling on the air in the NW. 11 episodes aired.
The experiment was a success, and Comcast wants 26 episodes for 2009.
K-man: Where can we find back episodes (You tube- URL would be great)
Sal: Watch episodes at: http://www.webcyclery.com/pages.php?pageid=15
Or check out our episode blog at www.velotv.net and click on WATCH FULL EPISODE.
K-man: What do you have planned for season 2?
Sal: Right now we are actively searching for sponsors for next season. I am also writing episodes and planning production. I am excited about the future of the show, because there are so many topics I want to cover. Here is a teaser: Zoo-Bombing, Hand-Built Bikes, NRC in Oregon, In the Wind Tunnel, Race Wheels, Bike Polo, Cross Explosion, AVC, MHCC . . . . .
K-man: What did you learn this past season?
Sal: I wrote, hosted, directed and edited every episode. I learned that was way too much for one person to handle. With the existing budget for the first season, I pretty much had to do it, but it won’t happen again. I also found out that covering events was a good idea. It turned out that our “Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge” and “Mount Hood Cycling Classic” specials were my favorite shows, and they got a great response from our viewers. We will do more of that kind of coverage next season.
I would like to thank our sponsors for season one, because without them, none of this would have been possible. WebCyclery was the first. Rolf Prima came through at the last minute, and IRONCLAD helped us finish 2008. Also, Alpenrose Dairy and Les Schwab helped out with our specials. Please let these sponsors know that cycling on television is important to you, because otherwise all we’ll have to choose from will be “Desperate Housewives” and “Dancing with the Stars”.
Oh yeah, one more thing K-Man, I know you want to get your mug on the show, but I am more interested in T-Girl, or maybe even Kiffy.
