From Mark Godfrey via Candi.

Wow…what a day. Started with Brian, Heather, Jennie and I surfing and splashing in the ocean in the morning after a leisurely breakfast and coffee. After a nap, we got to the track at 1:30 (see below for details) and finally got home at 10:30. Wore the chamois the whole time…yuck

Ok, so for the more notable results

Jen rode a 37.6 in the 500 (huge PR again) and placed 5th. Some unfortunate circumstances may have caused her time to be affected when the opposite rider pulled out of a pedal, dropped off the track and looked like she would not continue, but she got back on the track, and was caught by Jen with 1/4 lap to go. Jen was offered the option of a re-ride, but all the juice was spent and she declined.

According to the splits, Jen was exactly the same time at 1.5 laps as the gold medal ride. The last half lap was a +0.88 second.

Andrea rode really well in her 500, and placed 3rd in the U23 category. I am not sure if her ride was a PR…but it was fast!! Amelia rode the first 500 of the day (so she was in first place for a while) she rode a mid 39 second. Lynn rode her fastest 500 in years and is very happy with breaking the 42s barrier with a a 41.

Zach, Stephen B, Charlie Warner and I all rode the scratch race qualifier. Zach was very close to making it in to the final and placed 13th in his heat.

Brian, Nathan (Tank), myself and Kevin M all rode the 200m. Brian turned 12.14, Tank rode 12.01, Kevin ran about 11.89 and I finally broke the 12s barrier in the 200. I think it’s been 10 or 12 years since I have gone faster than 12.0 so I am happy with 11.9. Too bad 11.5 was the last qualifying time to get into the sprint rounds, so none of us moved on.

Here’s some reports from Steven- here and here.
