Today was Portland Velo and Sunset Cycle’s Pain on the Peak Cross Race- and boy oh boy was it a good one. The venue was gorgeous with a fantastic views.

K-Man was very impressed with the organization and is looking forward to its return next year. Here’s Scott Jones, the Chief Ref and Matt D’Elia, the main promoter.

One Mr. Trebon noted that it was “one of the hardest in Oregon.” With wind, powdery dirt, a nasty run-up and plenty of dust- it made for a great early season cross race.

Talk about Ryan, he’s really tall. Here’s a picture taken from K-Man’s perspective.

And here is an example of K-Man’s size compared to Mr. Trebon and Mr. Voldengen.

When you started you look clean like T-Girl.

Afterwards you have legs like this:

OBRA computers that looks like this:

And competitors that look like this:

All seemed happy except for this one:

(I know I’m just asking for it) :D

And… the sponsors were gracious enough to provide “officially sanctioned juice” for us:

A closer look:

Dave’s prayers were answered- and Team Ironclad took home the team trophy Congratulations!!!

The sponsors were awesome- (fake hypodermic writing pens provided by Skins, great food provided by Madison’s Bar and Grill, awesome coffee by the Human Bean and lots of neat stuff from Keen, Ironclad, Team Estrogen, TAI, Emerge, and Tanasbourne Dental)

Thanks to all the sponsors and especially Portland Velo for a fantastic race.

Actually, this may go down as one of my favorite pictures of 2008. It so captures everything that I feel about that brute of a course.
