Grant Boswell reports:
Ian did a smoking fast TT at Abitibi in Quebec for 3rd on the day against a 160 rider international field and ended up 4th overall GC at the end. Looks like the CMG juniors are all heading down to Orange county for junior natz right after HD and then Jake going to Italy with the USAC JR natz team and Ian going to Belgium again with another group of Junior natz guys.
Great job Ian and good luck guys!

Check this video podcast from quickrelease.tv. “Tour de France best footage ever?” (iTunes- originally filmed with IMAX cameras) RAD!
This is a higher resolution version of a 9-minute video first published last year. It has now been optimised for watching on Apple TV. It features rushes and cutting room floor material from ‘Wired to Win’, the IMAX film about the Tour de France. More info here http://quickrelease.tv/?p=509
(Yes, it does have Tyler in it, but the footage is amazing)

Galen posts a narrative on the so-called bike, car conflict- seeing stupid folks on both sides. He’s right on the money.
It’s US vs THEM out there alright, but not the way you think. It’s not cars vs bikes. It’s smart vs dumb. It’s respectful vs disrespectful. It’s legal vs illegal. It’s people vs people.

Sprinter della Casa, aka Aki, my compatriot Helmet Cammer from CT posts pics of what could be described as a “Ricer Bike”. You know, like those souped up cars with fins and and neon lights mounted on the underside of the car?

Bryan Bihlmaier finally gave track a try. She also made a post about Rico.
As an aside- Ricco is an AHOLE. Actions by dorkwads like him have impact globally- and economically. Some of the fallout includes: a US team not getting a sponsor, orders lost for a Portland based company…
Kennett suffers.
NRR posts up a Vancouver summary, a junior 14&U podium pic and recognizes Jeff Harwood for winning the overall for the July 3/4 PIR.

Yes it cost Castelli money, because they could not capitalize on Ricco. But Ricco did what he did because he is a product of his environment. It’s not to say what he did was ok. Ricky Ricardo aka Ricco is finished in cycling, are those that put it in his hands finished, probably not. Is Castelli finished? Nope, they’ll still be around next year and years to come. It may have effected Castelli in the bottom line for profits, this year. But they could spin it and be creative. And make money from it some how. Bad thing is, Cycling at the highest level is driven by big $$$ and some who have been brought up in the ranks of doping will take the low road to make big $$$. It a vicious cycle. I feel bad for all involved.

Yeah, but doesn’t Ricco have more virtue now than either Fllloyd Landis or Tyler Shamilton? Both of those guys doped, lied to their families, lied to their support networks, assembled crack legal teams to lie for them and on their behalf, and in Shammy’s case kept right on lying until his suspension was up.
Ricco came clean. Not very gracefully. Not right away. But he admitted doping.
There’s two types of pro cyclist: Those who have admitted doping and those who haven’t. The first group at least we can be pretty sure is being honest about it.
