The Overall BAR takes into account all disciplines (Mtn, Road, Time Trial, CCX and Track) While winning and performing well in races certainly helps your bar point total, the BAR is more of a measure of participation than results. It is possible to race every discipline and have a high BAR ranking but not accumulate any upgrade points.
