It might take a bit to get my arms around this system so my apologies for any ugliness that might occur.

To liven your day- Here’s the Fart Bed Fan

This bed fan creates a cool personal microclimate between your bed’s sheets, allowing you to regulate your temperature as you sleep without disturbing a sleeping partner. The unit takes minutes to install; its adapter bracket slides between your mattress and box spring, holding it securely to your bed.
The bottom of the unit houses two whisper-quiet 12-volt fans that produce an airflow of up to 100’ cu. when used at maximum power–the included speed dial allows you to control airflow for one person or two. An adjustable defector bar attaches to the unit using hook-and-loop fasteners and redirects airflow when tucked into your sheets.

From Random Good Stuff

It’s pretty lousy outside so K-Man is hunkered down in OBRA central, working away. Fortunately, Miffy and Kiffy are both asleep. They’ve been on a begging binge- always screaming for food.

Well, here in OBRA-land, we’ve been getting a nice flow of annual applications, which means more racers. Unfortunately, there haven’t been as many women signing up in the last week or so. Hmm…

Well, as of now, we have 1,767 annual memberships.
Of which 307 are female.

News

Mt. Hood keeps on making the news- Chad and crew are looking to do a knock out job this year. Kendra Wenzel joined the team and will be helping arrange the Tour de Hood recreational challenge. This ride will be benefiting LAF- so let your friends know. It would be great if they were able to tap into the STP mailing list.

Looks like everyone is picking up on the new 2009 Dura Ace- there’s the electronic version, and there looks to be a non-electric version too. The articles mention how there’s likely to be flatter hoods and better tolerances. Check what they say on Velonews and Cyclingnews

Cyclingnews also had a recent article on Tubeless tires and their adoption rates. Having used them for about a year now, I can say that I like them- a lot. I’ll probably be upgrading to the new Dura Ace 7850-SL’s if I can get my hands on them. (which means I’ll have a set of 7801’s to sell- with possibly the ceramic bearings included)

Lots of news stories about Tammy Thomas.

Given that Piece of Cake is coming up this Sunday- it might be windy. Thus…. a good read would be Bike Radar’s “Beat the Wind“. Note, in OBRA- you may not “push” other riders out of the way.

Cyclocross Magazine has a funny article entitled, “Confessions of a Sandbagger”.

I was was beginning to wonder why some articles on Cyclingnews and Bike Radar are the exact same. Turns out they are both owned by Future Publishing- with Cyclingnews geared toward racers and fans while Bike Radar is geared toward cycling in general.

News of the Weird

In a piece of morbid news, a bicyclist was injured by a suicide jumper in Tokyo.
